Cake smash photography Kent
A year ago I photographed my smallest newborn ever. Weighing in at less that 5lb, she was tiny. But she was an absolute dream! She slept for most of her session, let me move her and pose her. And she only peed on me once!
7 Months later I was back for her sitter session.
This was a little bit more of a challenge! She didn’t really like me haha. She didn’t want to be far from her Mum, and I had to grab shots in the brief moments in between the tears. But the shots I did get were beautiful!
Its hard to believe its been a year since that very first session! But here we are, One year old! And of course, I had to be there to capture it for her 🙂
With a Mum who loves pink and all things unicorn, what else could it be but a unicorn-themed cake smash!
As always, I started off with a pre-cake portrait session. Mum had bought a super cute unicorn romper, and Laycie-Mae rocked it!
Then it was time to bring out the cake!
This was when things started to get more difficult haha.
She didn’t want to know. She didn’t like the cake, she hated having it on her fingers (neither of which are unusual to be honest).
She was starting to get tired, so we decided to take a little break. She needed Mummy (and Mummy’s milk 🙂 ).
She relaxed so much that she fell asleep!
She had a good nap, whilst we chatted, and tried to stop the dog from eating the cake haha.
When she woke up, we tried again. We managed a few more shots, and she did grab the horn and ears off the cake. But she still wasn’t happy. So we decided to move on.
Next was the splash part. And oh my goodness, she loved it!
The water, the bubbles, the fact that she was in a small space. She was in her element!
So many smiles and facial expressions.
So many poses.
She didn’t want to get out!
I absolutely love seeing babies grow, capturing those milestones over their first year, when they grow and change so much.
Thats why I’m launching my “Birth to Birthday” package later on in the year.
