Newborn photography Hythe
I know the idea of a newborn session can be a little daunting. One of the most common things I get asked is about safety. People will say “Some of those poses look dangerous! You can’t just dangle a baby from things or hold them up in the air!”
So I wanted to try and put this fear to rest 🙂 My behind the scenes video shows me shooting a classic “baby in hands” pose. No dangling baby in sight!
I take baby safety very seriously, as a Mum myself I am all too aware that it only takes a second for an accident to happen. I normally bring along Sasha, my assistant (and eldest daughter) to act as a “spotter” for me, staying close to baby at all times. But if she isn’t available I will ask Mum or Dad to step in. Many of the poses you see on Pinterest and the like are only achieved by compositing two images together in Photoshop or, like the one shown above, are all about backgrounds, camera angles and a little bit of post processing magic 🙂
